Bowling Green Police Arrest Resident for Accidental Discharge of Firearm


On February 27, 2019 at approximately 5:47 pm, officers were dispatched to 214 Napoleon Apt. 66 regarding a suspicious hole in the ceiling of an apartment that the resident believed might have been caused by a bullet.  Officers arrived and confirmed that the hole appeared to be a bullet hole.  During the officers’ investigation, they spoke with the upstairs resident, Samuel G.L. Williamson. Officers discovered that Williamson had accidentally discharged his 9mm handgun while cleaning it in his apartment.  There were no reported injuries in this incident.  Williamson’s handgun was seized, and he was arrested for discharging weapons in the city limits and released.
