Records Request

Records Request Guidelines

Accident and incident reports are available for release through the Records Section Monday – Thursday, 7 am – 3 pm. A request submitted online may take up to 5 business days to be processed and returned. Requests received over the telephone will not be processed.

Requests submitted online will be returned by fax or to an email address.

Each request must include a valid, working telephone number for the requester. If the response is to be faxed, a valid, working fax number must also accompany the request.

Background checks can not be requested online. Background checks must be done in person and are available for Bowling Green city residents only with photo identification.

Depending on the size of the file, requests for recordings (telephone or video) may not be emailed. Records personnel will contact the requester if the recordings can not be emailed to arrange for alternate pick-up (fees may apply).

Requests for more than three 3 reports will not be faxed or emailed. Records personnel will contact the requester and advise when the records can be picked up from the Records Section and if there are any applicable fees.

Fees are subject to change without notice. Fees can be paid with cash or with check made payable to Bowling Green City Police.

Fees are as follows:

  • Black and White copies – $.10 per page
  • Color copies – $.10 per page
  • Photo prints – cost of processing
  • DVD or CD – $.50 each

All records request responses will be sent back to the requester in Adobe Acrobat format.  If you do not have this program installed on your computer you can obtain it here.
