Gary L. Spencer, CLEE

Chief Gary L. Spencer was promoted to Chief in June 2006. He has been with the Division since May 11, 1981 and has held positions in all three bureaus of the Division. Prior to being named Chief, he was the Operations Bureau Commander for two years and the Deputy Chief for 5 years.

He attended Bowling Green State University and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy's 192d Session.

He is also a graduate of Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command, the Police Executive Leadership College (PELC) and the Certified Police Executive Course (CLEE).

Chief Spencer is retired from the United States Army Reserve and is a Viet Nam veteran.
