BGSU football player charged with assault

A starting defensive lineman for the BGSU Falcon football team has been arrested for assault. Kevin Alvarado, age 20, was arrested on Monday 11/30 and charged with assault in relation to an incident that took place on Nov. 14th when he reportedly assaulted a female subject in an alleyway in the 100 blk of E. Wooster St.

On Nov. 14 at approx. 2:04am a female subject reported to police that she had just been assaulted and pushed to the ground by a subject who was later identified as Kevin Alvarado. The female subject had sustained minor injuries and was later treated at the hospital for her injuries. An investigation into the alledged assault was conducted by officers with numerous witnesses and individuals interviewed. The case was presented to the Bowling Green City Prosecutors office and they advised to charge Alvarado with assault.

The assault charge was filed on Monday Nov. 30th and Mr. Alvarado was taken into custody without incident. He taken to the Wood County Justice Center and given a court date of Dec. 02, 2009 @ 10am.
