Operations Bureau

Lt. Brad Biller

Operations Bureau consists of the Patrol and Detective Sections. The members of the Operations Bureau are the most visible and typically thought of as the more "traditional" area of police services.

The Bowling Green Police Division, however is anything but traditional. While tradition is an important aspect of any organization, the Bowling Green Police Division prides itself in being a leader in the law enforcement profession. The Bowling Green Police Division has been an Internationally Accredited Law Enforcement Agency since 1993, exceeding the standards developed by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies or CALEA. The Bowling Green Police Division is a "community policing" organization and received statewide recognition in 2001 from the Ohio Crime Prevention Association for our COP program that was aimed at "meeting community needs." The Mission Statement and Core Values of the Bowling Green Police Division are something that we take seriously as they guide us in our daily job performance and interaction with the public that we serve.

The Bowling Green Police Division is a "community policing organization", being one of the few organizations in the country that implements community policing initiatives involving the entire organization. Officers within the Police Division are assigned to programs and wards and their duties include planning and implementation of the programs as well as "team problem solving" issues that arise in their respective wards.
