ISO Rating
The Bowling Green Fire Division has earned an ISO Class 2 rating. The quality of fire protection available to the citizens of Bowling Green is evaluated by the Insurance Services Office (ISO). The insurance industry relies on ISO to determine insurance rates for business, industry, and homeowners. These ratings calculate how well-equipped fire departments are to put out fires in that community. ISO provides this score, often called the "ISO fire score," to insurance companies. Insurers then use it to help set insurance rates. The better equipped your fire department is to put out a fire, the less likely your building or house is to burn down. That makes your home or business less risky, and therefore less expensive, to insure.
Accredited
In March of 2014, Bowling Green Fire Division became Internationally Accredited by the Commission on Fire Service Accreditation International (CFAI). The Fire Division was recently reaccredited on August 7, 2019.
"Accreditation is a comprehensive self-assessment and evaluation model that enables organizations to examine past, current, and future service levels and internal performance and compare them to industry best practices. This process leads to improved service delivery."
